PORTSMOUTH 2022 / #2
If you’ve followed my vacation blogs before now, you know they often wind up being a series of odes to the act of walking – on the beach, in nature, through tourist towns, etc. Today my adventure was to the coastal town of Ogunquit, Maine – just 25 minutes up the coast from Portsmouth.
In a word: SPECTACULAR! STUNNING. MEDITATIVE. AWE-INSPIRING. (Pick one if you can.)
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…
On the Marginal Way – a cliff walk along the rocky crags on the ocean.

The long shot of the beach was looking out toward Ogunquit Beach – my next stop after lunch and a bit of window shopping in the artsy stores on Main Street.
On Ogunquit Beach – My second favorite beach thus far in life (first is Marconi Beach on Cape Cod)

Wide beach, flat, hard-packed sand, with few people about. Just wow.
Hours of gorgeous walking. My kind of day. After that, everything else is mundane…
Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike. ~ John Muir
